Tollywood: Mahesh Babu's Brahmotsavam to release on 13 May 2016

The 2016 Tollywood summer schedule is already packed with much-awaited films like Sarrainodu and Aa...Aa releasing on 22 April and 6 May respectively. Now, the latest addition to the summer race is Brahmotsavam as the makers have confirmed that it will be releasing in theatres on 13 May 2016. 

The Mahesh Babu starrer was initially slated to release in the last week of April. However, the film got delayed due to pending post production work. Now, Mahesh Babu, who co-produced the Sreekanth Addala directorial with Prasad V Potluri, has decided  to complete his film as soon as possible so that it will be ready for a grand release worldwide on 13 May 2016.

The film also stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Kajal Aggarwal, and Pranitha Subhash. The supporting cast includes veteran stars like Sathyaraj, Revathi, and Jayasudha. 

According to reports, Zee Telugu has brought the satellite rights of the film for a whopping Rs 11.5 crore. Previously, Catch had reported that the overseas rights of the film had been sold for Rs 13 crore. The film has beaten the record of Pawan Kalyan's Sardaar Gabbar Singh - which was sold for Rs 10.5 crore. The Mahesh Babu starrer also broke the record set by the 2015 blockbuster, Baahubali - the rights of which were sold for Rs 9 crore.
