Thalapathy fans rejoice! Vijay's Mersal emerges the first South Indian film to have an emoji on Twitter

It's party time for the fans of Thalapathy Vijay! The Tamil superstar's upcoming film Mersal emerges as the first South Indian film to have an emoji on micro-blogging site, Twitter. Directed by hit maker Atlee, Mersal stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Kajal Aggarwal and Nithya Menen in female leads. The film is also touted to be the 100th film of Thenandal Films. Written by K. Vijayendra Prasad of Baahubali and Bajrangi Bhaijaan fame, the music of the Adirindi has been composed by AR Rahman.

Twitter India took to their official page to reveal the update:

Excited to launch the first-ever emoji for a #Tamil movie! Tweet with #Mersal to unlock the special emoji!

Vijay will be portraying triple roles in the film. The action-entertainer also marks the second collaboration of Vijay-Atlee duo after the 2016 blockbuster Theri.

Mersal is scheduled to release in Tamil and Telugu languages simultaneously on Diwali.
