Thalapathy beats Thalaivar as Vijay's Mersal teaser unseats Rajinikanth's Kabali teaser to emerge India's most viewed teaser

After becoming world's first film teaser to cross 1 million likes, teaser of Thalapathy Vijay's Mersal has now set an unique all-India record to its credit. The action packed teaser, which had released on September 21 set the social media on fire by clocking nearly 25 million views to become the fastest Indian film teaser to do so.

And now, teaser of the Thalapathy Vijay starrer has emerged as India's most viewed teaser. Mersal teaser unseats the record set by Rajinikanth's Kabali teaser to become the same. While Rajinikanth teaser clocked 3.45 crore views with 46.8 lakh likes, Mersal teaser had already clocked a whopping 3.46 crore views along with a record 1 million plus likes.

Catch had previously reported that Mersal teaser unseats the teaser of Hollywood blockbuster film Star Wars: The Last Jedi to become world's most liked teaser.

Directed by Atlee, Mersal is touted as the 100th film of Sri Thenandal Films. The action-thriller also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Samantha and Nithy Menen in the female leads.
