Telugu Box Office: Good opening for Nag Chaitanya - Shruti Hassan's Premam, rakes in Rs 5.5 cr

The much-awaited Telugu film of the year, Naga Chaitanya-starrer Premam has made an impressive start at the Telugu Box Office. The film, a remake of a Malayalam blockbuster with same title, stars Shruti Hassan, Anupama Parameshwaran and Madonna Sebastain as female leads.

The romantic-entertainer, which had released on 7 October, 2016, has overpowered all other new releases including Prabhu Deva - Tamannaah Bhatia's Devi at the Telugu Box Office. In Telangana states, Premam raked in Rs 3.4 crore on its opening day while in Karanataka, the Naga Chaitanya-starrer made Rs 55 lakh at the Box Office.

Premam has scored overseas as well by making nearly Rs 1.4 crore at USA Box Office. It has so far made Rs 5.5 crore worldwide and will be looking to cross the Rs 15 crore mark by the end of the weekend.
