After the super success of 24, Suriya is ready with his upcoming film, Singham 3 (S3), the third installment of the hugely successful Singham franchise. The film marks the return of Suriya in one of his best loved avatars: a police officer. Directed by Hari and produced by KE Gnanavel Raja, S3 stars Anushka Shetty and Shruti Haasan as the female leads.

Earlier, Catch had reported that the Nizam/Andhra Pradesh rights of S3 have been sold for Rs 18 crore to film producer Malkapuram Sivakumar, which turned out to be the highest ever for a Suriya-starrer.

And now, it has been confirmed that the Tamil Nadu theatrical rights of S3 have been sold for a bomb to one of the leading distributors in India. The name of the buyer has not been revealed yet but as per reliable trade sources, S3 has been sold for a whopping Rs 40 crore, which is bigger than the actor's previous film, 24.

Meanwhile, the next schedule of S3 is expected to begin from 18 July in Chennai. Over 70% of the film's shoot is complete and the makers are planning to release S3 during the auspicious period of Ayudha Pooja.
