Last Friday saw three major Tamil releases at the Tamil Nadu Box Office. Siva Karthikeya-Keerthi Suresh starrer Remo, Vijay Sethupathi's Rekka and Prabhu Deva-Tamannaah starrer, Devi.

And as expected, Remo won the opening week race by a huge margin.

The Siva Karthikeyan starrer Remo, which had opened to an outstanding response on the opening day, was unstoppable at the ticket windows across Tamil Nadu. On its opening weekend, Remo collected a huge Rs 21.50 crore at Tamil Nadu Box Office with the best collections coming from Chennai - Rs 1.75 cr, Chengalpet - Rs 5 cr, Kovai - Rs 3.25 cr and Tirunelveli-Tuticorin - Rs. 2.25 cr. The film has already emerged a hit at the Tamil Nadu Box Office.

The second Tamil release of the week, Vijay Sethupathi's Rekka, too hit the jackpot at the Tamil Nadu Box Office. Rekka was Vijay Sethupathi's sixth release in 2016, but it has not stopped the film to score big. On its opening weekend, Rekka collected a good Rs. 6.5 crore at Tamil Nadu Box Office. The film has fared its best in Chengalpet, Coimbatore and Chennai with collections of Rs. 1.5 cr, Rs 1 cr and Rs 75 lakh, respectively. With such an impressive collection, Rekka turned out to be Vijay's fifth hit of 2016.

The last release of the week, Tamannaah's Tamil-Telugu bilingual Devi had an above average opening weekend at Tamil Box Office. On its opening weekend, the horror-comedy collected Rs. 3.3 crore.

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story has crossed the coveted Rs. 10 crore mark at Tamil Nadu Box Office. The biopic of India's current ODI - T20 captain, MS Dhoni, has also surpassed the life-time collections of Salman Khan blockbuster Sultan to become the top Bollywood grosser of 2016 at the Tamil Nadu Box Office. All versions of the biopic have so far raked in over Rs 115 crore at the Box-Office.

Owing to the disastrous run of Mirzya and Tutak Tutak Tutiya, distributors decided to allot more number of shows to MS Dhoni: The Untold Story.
