Tamil Nadu Box Office: Good reports for Aandavan Kattalai while Dhanush's Thodari opens to negative reviews

Last Thursday saw the release of Dhanush and Keerthy Suresh starrer Thodari while Vijay Sethupathi's Aandavan Kattalai released on Friday.

Interestingly, Thodari is Dhanush's first release of 2016 as an actor. But for Vijay Sethupathi, Aandavan Kattalai it is his fifth release of the year after three super hits Sethupathi, Kadhalum KadanthuPogum, DharmaDurai, and one flop Iraivi.

Surprisingly, Thodari opened to negative reviews from audiences and critics alike. The film has been crirticised from every corner due to its slow pace and half -baked script. Dhanush and Keerthy Suresh's sincere performances failed to help the film take a good opening at the ticket windows. At some places, Thodari shows were cancelled due to lack of audience.

Meanwhile, Vijay Sethupathi continued to strike gold as his recent release, Aandavan Kattalaia opened to positive reviews all over. Directed by Manikandan, the director of National awardwinning film Kakkamuttai, the film stars Ritika Singh as the female lead. The film has been praised for Manikandan's direction, brilliant humour and the performances of leading cast along with Yogi Babu, who is reportedly outstanding in the film. And the good news for the makers are the tickets for the weekend are selling like hot cakes at Tamil Nadu Box Office.

Looks like a fourth hit in 2016 is on the way for Vijay Sethupathi.
