Baahubali: The Beginning, the biggest South Indian blockbuster was released on 10 July, 2015. The film did phenomenal business not only in India, but also at overseas' Box Office. Even the Bollywood dubbed version of the film crossed the coveted Rs 100 crore mark. The bilingual historical drama from SS Rajamouli was released simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu.

The action sequences and VFX of the film were of international standards, outshining that of many Hollywood films at that time. The film had globally minted an earth shattering Rs 600 crore to become the third all-time grosser of Indian cinema after Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Aamir Khan's PK. The Salman starrer had collected a whopping Rs 629 crore while Aamir's PK tops the list with an unbeatable Rs 792 crore.

The craze for Baahubali was so high in the overseas markets that the makers decided to release the film in Germany, Japan, Mangolia and China. Apart from Germany, the Prabhas-Rana Daggubati starrer had a reasonable run everywhere.

The film, with German title, Ich Bin Baahubali, was released on 30 screens on April 28, 2016. The German distributor bought the Indian blockbuster for Rs 50 lakh, with the thought that the film will repeat the same success in their country. Unfortunately for them, Baahubali ended its theatrical run with a poor Rs 3. 75 lakh and turned out to be a huge disaster.

One of the main reasons for the film's failure maybe the fact that the DVD of Baahubali: The Beginning is out and a lot of people have already seen the movie in HD.
