The trailer of superstar Rajinikanth's Kaala is yet-to-be-released, but the film has already proved to be a money spinner for his son-in-law and producer of the film, Dhanush. Directed by Kabali maker Pa. Ranjith, the film also marks Rajinikanth's first collaboration with Dhanush.

Catch had previously reported that top film production house Lyca Productions have acquired Kaala’s theatrical rights for a massive price of 125 crore.

And now, it has been confirmed that the Tamil, Telugu and Hindi satellite rights of the Rajinikanth starrer have been sold for a whopping 75 crores to the leading national entertainment channel Star TV. In fact, with this massive deal, Kaala also equals the record of Aamir Khan blockbuster Dangal. The film is now only next to Rajinikanth - Akshay Kumar's 2.0 and Baahubali 2 in the list of Indian films with highest price for satellite rights.

In Kaala, Rajinikanth will be seen essaying a man from Tamil Nadu’s Tirunelveli who escapes to Mumbai as a child and goes on to become a powerful don living in Dharavi slums of Mumbai. The film also stars an ensemble cast including Bollywood actors Nana Patekar and Huma Qureshi.

Though Kaala was earlier planned to release in the second half of 2018, but the delay of 2.0's release date has worked in favor of the film to hit the screens in April. The Thalaivar starrer will now hit the screens of April 27.
