The Suresh Krrisna-directorial impressed both the Box Office and the critics and went on to become one of the biggest hits of the years. Besides Rajinikanth's performance, the film also won acclaim for Deva's music - which gave us chartbusters like Naan Autokaaran, Style Style Thaan and Azhagu Azhagu.
The film, which also starred Nagma and Raghuvaran, minted Rs 25 crore at the end of its theatrical run - a commendable feat at the time.
The digitally-remastered version is bound to be the perfect birthday gift for the thousands of Rajinikanth fans around the world.
