Legendary actor-turned-politician Rajinikanth, who's following the philosophy of spiritual politics stated that only god and Tamil Nadu people were behind him and not the Bharatiya Janata Party. The superstar was addressing the media in Chennai after his return from a spiritual tour to the Himalayas.

When asked about meeting few BJP leaders during his spiritual tour and the ongoing allegations that he is backed by the BJP party, Rajinikanth squashed the reports and said 'only god and people were behind him', not BJP party. The 2.0 actor went ton to say that the state is secular and the government should provide security to it and prevent any communal flare ups.

Earlier, during his media speech in Rishikesh, Rajinikanth stated that, "I have not become a full-time politician. I have not announced my party. I don't want to talk anything about politics now".

There has been a huge speculation that Rajinikanth would lead BJP in Tamil Nadu ever since the current prime minister (former BJP prime minister candidate) Narendra Modi flew down to Chennai to meet Thalaivar at his residence before the 2014 general elections.
