Last Thursday saw the release of Mohanlal starrer Oppam at Kerala Box Office. The Priyadarshan directorial opened to a fantastic response, collecting more than Rs. 11 crore in the opening week itself. The film has also emerged as the all-time highest opening week for a Malayalam film in Kerala.

Oppam has been praised for Priyadarshan's smart direction and the Malayalam superstar's performance, which is touted as Lalettan's best work since his blockbuster Dhrishyam. The film has impressed both the audience and critics alike.

Interestingly, Oppam has also succeeded in impressing two big superstars, Kamal Haasan and Akshay Kumar.

Reportedly, Kamal Haasan, who watched Oppam, called up both Mohanlal and Priyadarshan to personally congratulate them for the blockbuster success of the film. He has also showered praises on Mohanlal, for his terrific portrayal of Jayaraman, a visually-impaired person in the film. He also expressed his desire to feature in the Tamil remake of the film under the direction of Priyadarshan. Earlier too, Kamal Haasan has remade Mohanlal starrer Dhrishyam in Tamil.

Meanwhile, Priyadarshan's friend and favorite Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is also planning to remake Oppam in Hindi. The Bollywood Khiladi has been reportedly impressed with the Box Office performance of Oppam and is eyeing the remake rights of the film. The Priyadarshan - Akshay Kumar duo has so far remade six Malayalam films in Hindi and all of them have been clean successes at the Box Office.
