Mersal: Audio album of Thalapathy Vijay, AR Rahman blockbuster creates history, clocks 10 million streams on Saavn

It's known that superstar Thalapathy Vijay's 2017 release Mersal emerged as an all-time blockbuster at the Box Office worldwide. The Tamil film, an action-entertainer released during the auspicious occasion of Diwali has been directed by Atlee and produced by Sri Thenandal Films.

Upon its theatrical release, Mersal sets the Box Office on fire by raking in more than Rs. 250 crore worldwide. The film also emerged as the fifth South Indian film to cross the Rs. 250 crore mark after the Baahubali series and Rajinikanth blockbusters Kabali and Enthiran.

However, Mersal is still on headlines-breaking spree, but this time for it's music composed by none other than Oscar award winning composer AR Rahman.

The music album of Mersal has clocked a whopping 10 million streams on India's most popular audio streaming platform Saavn.

Sony Music, the official music channel who had acquired the audio rights of Mersal took to Twitter to share the good news.

Written by KV Vijayendra Prasad of Baahubali series and Bajrangi Bhaijaan fame, Mersal starred Thalapathy Vijay in triple roles. The film featured Samantha, Kajal Aggarwal and Nithya Menen in female lead roles.
