The super hit actor director duo, Mohanlal and Priyadarshan, are back with a bang as the duo's latest film, Oppam is doing phenomenal business at the Kerala Box Office. The film, which released last Thursday to an overwhelming response across Kerala, has so far raked in Rs 8 crore plus from five-days of its theatrical release.

With Tuesday's collection are yet to be compiled and today being a big holiday, (Onam) it's clearly evident that the Mohanlal-starrer will easily cross the all-time highest Malayalam opening week record of Rs 10 crore set by the 2015 Nivin Pauly blockbuster, Premam.

Interestingly, Oppam is Lalettan's first Malayalam release of the year and his second release of the week after his Telugu release, Janatha Garage. Janatha Garage too had an outstanding run at the ticket windows by crossing Rs 100 crore worldwide within six-days of the theatrical release.

The success of Oppam has also provided director Priyadarshan a much-needed hit after his twoback-to-back disasters, Geethanjali and Aamayum Muyalum. Oppam has been praised for Priyadarshan's smart direction and the performance of Mohanlal, which is touted as the superstar's best work since Dhrishyam.
