Kerala Box Office : It's a hat-trick for Mohanlal as Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol emerges actor's 3rd Rs. 30 crore blockbuster in a row

Malayalam actor Mohanlal continued his dream run at the Kerala box office as his January release, ​​Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol​ emerged as the first blockbuster of the year. Directed by Vellimoonga fame Jibu Jacob and produced by Sophia Paul under the banner of Weekend Blockbusters, the family entertainer was released on 20 January 2017.

​The Lalettan star, which had emerged as the second top Malayalam opener upon its release was rock-steady even after completing 25 theatrical days at the Kerala Box Office. ​​​Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol​ also completed 10000 shows at the Kerala box office​ ​to become the second fastest​ film after Pulimurugan to do the same.

And now, ​Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol​ has crossed the coveted Rs. 30 crore mark at the Kerala Box Office to become the first blockbuster of 2017. And with this feat, Mohanlal scored a hat-trick at the Kerala Box Office as his previous two Malayalam releases, Oppam and Pulimurugan were blockbusters as well.

The Mohanlal-Meena starrer, which marks the second Malayalam outing of Kasaba fame Neha Saxena stars an ensemble supporting cast including Anoop Menon, Alencier Ley Lopez, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Sharafudheen, Srindaa, Sudheer Karamana and Bindu Panicker. Munthirivallikal Thalirkumbol also stars Jacobinte Swargarajyam fame Aima Rosmy Sebastian and Philips And The Monkey Pen fame Sanoop Santhosh.
