Kerala box office: After Rajinikanth's Kabali, Mohanlal - Antony Perumbavoor's Aashirvad Cinemas to release Dhanush starrer VIP 2 in 200 screens

It's known that Malayalam actor Mohanlal and his friend's Aashirvad Cinemas has acquired the distribution rights of Dhanush's upcoming Tamil film VIP 2 in Kerala. The film, a sequel to the 2014 hit film Velaiilla Pattadhari (VIP) marks the Tamil comeback of Bollywood actress Kajol and second directorial outing of Rajinikanth's daughter Soundarya.

It has been now finalized that VIP 2 is set to have a good release in Kerala. Aashirvad Cinemas announced that VIP 2 will be releasing in 200 screens across Kerala. Earlier in 2016, Aashirvad Cinemas released the Rajinikanth starrer Kabali in more than 200 screens in Kerala. It's a good release for the Kajol - Dhanush starrer considering that only Theri, Kabali, Pulimurugan, The Great Father and Baahubali 2 managed to get such release at the Kerala box office.

VIP 2 also stars Malayalam actress Amala Paul, Samuthirakani and Tamil Bigg Boss fame Raiza Wilson and is slated to hit the screens on Friday.
