Telugu actor Pawan Kalyan's new film Katamarayudu released on Friday. Directed by Kishore Kumar Pardasani and produced by Sharrath Marar, the action-entertainer is a remake of 2014 Thala Ajith's Tamil film Veeram. Katamarayudu stars Shruti Haasan in female lead role.

Katamarayudu has opened to good response at the Telugu Box Office, especially in the Nizam region where the Pawan Kalyan film has minted a total share of Rs. 5 crore on its opening day. A large number of fan shows has worked in favor of the film to rake in maximum mollah on its theatrical release day itself. Katamarayudu has overtaken the collections of actor's Sardar Gabbar Singh and Gabbar Singh and emerged the biggest Pawan Kalyan opener in Nizam.

The overall collections are yet to be revealed, but as per early Friday trends, Katamarayudu has grossed close to Rs. 23 crore on its opening day. The film is set to be the fifth biggest Telugu opener after Baahubali, Srimanthudu, Janatha Garage and Sardar Gabbar Singh.

Katamarayudu also starred Rao Ramesh, Siva Balaji, Chaitanya Krishna and Nassar.
