Kairali : Nivin Pauly to star in cinematographer Jomon T John's directorial debut

After signing two films within a span of one week, Nivin pauly has signed yet another film to his credit. The young actor will essay the main lead of cinematographer Jomon T John's directorial debut film, titled Kairali. The film is based on Kerala’s first ship MV Kairali, which disappeared in 1979 with a crew of 49 members. Sidhartha Siva, the national award winner and the director of Nivin Pauly's previous release Sakhavu has written the script of the film, which will be jointly produced under the banner of Pauly Jr Pictures and Real Life Works.

Nivin Pauly has officially announced the film on his Facebook page;

“So here comes the big news! Announcing my new project with my dearest Jomon T John who will make his directorial debut in this film titled Kairali. The movie is based on Kerala’s first ship MV Kairali, which disappeared in 1979 just off the coast of India with a crew of 49 members. I am totally excited to part of this ever since I heard the story. The movie will be scripted by my dear friend Sidhartha Siva and it will be jointly produced by Pauly Jr Pictures and Real Life Works. Kairali Movie Official will go on floors in December.” (SIC)

Kairali also marks Nivin Pauly's fifth association with Jomon T John. The cinematographer, who's making his Bollywood DOP debut with the Ajay Devgn - Rohit Shetty's Golmaal 4 has earlier cranked the camera in Nivin Pauly films like Oru Thattathin Marayathu, Oru Vadakkan Selfie, Jacobinte Swargarajyam and Sakhavu.
