Kabali worldwide Box Office: No it's not a Rajinikanth joke! Kabali crosses Rs 200 crore in 3 days

Last Friday saw the release of one of the most-anticipated films of the year, the Rajinikanth- starrer, Kabali. Produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu and directed by PA Ranjith, the action-thriller also starred Radhika Apte, Dhansika and Kishore.

Prior to the film's release, Thanu predicted that his film will see the best opening collection an Indian actor will ever have. The Theri producer also stated that there is only one superstar in India who can break all the collections of SS Rajamouli's Baahubali: The Beginning and that is Rajinikanth.

Much to the delight of Thanu, Kabali has completed its's opening weekend with an all-time record. The film has minted Rs 210 crore worldwide to become the highest opening weekend grosser ever in Indian film history. Kabali has also shattered the opening weekend records of Baahubali and Salman Khan's Sultan (Rs 205 crore) in three working days. In its opening weekend, the Rajinikanth-starrer has also crossed the coveted Rs 100 crore mark in India and Rs 200 crore mark worldwide.

  • India - Rs 115 - Rs 120 crore (3 days)
  • Overseas - Rs 87 crore (3 days + Thursday premieres in selective countries)
  • Total - Rs 202 - Rs 207 crore worldwide

However, unlike Baahubali and Sultan, the reports of Kabali are mixed and Monday's collection will tell the real story at the Box Office. The film should cross the Rs 300 crore mark to be in the safe zone.
