In what will come as a disappointment for Thalaivaa fans, megastar Rajnikanth's upcoming film Kabali will not release in April 2016 as scheduled.

According to reports, Rajnikanth has requested the makers of Kabali to postpone the release of the film. However, the makers of Kabali has said that the film's release has been postponed because of the clash with the dates of the Assembly Elections in Tamil Nadu - which they claim will affect the Box Office collections.
