The makers of Rajinikanth's Kaala have kick-started the dubbing formalities on Wednesday with a small puja function. The event was held at KNACK Studios, Chennai with the presence of Kaala director PA Ranjith along with the crew members.

However, Thalaivar has decided to postpone his dubbing as the actor is busy with six-day long fans meet which had started from December 26 and will end on December 31. The superstar will be seen portraying the role of a gangster turned slumlord in the film. Kaala also marks the second collaboration of Rajinikanth - PA Ranjith duo after the 2016 blockbuster Kabali.

The entire post-production process is expected to be wrapped up by February 2018. The makers are waiting for the release date of Rajinikanth's 2.0 to decide the release date of their film. The film also stars Bollywood actors Nana Patekar, Huma Qureshi, Pankaj Tripathi and Anjali Patil along with Samuthirakani. Produced by Rajinikanth’s son-in-law and actor Dhanush, the music of Kaala has been composed by Kabali composer Santhosh Narayanan.
