Janatha Garage hits century, is second fastest Rs 100 crore Telugu grosser after Baahubali
Last Thursday saw the release of the much-awaited Telugu release of the year, Janatha Garage. According to the latest news available, the action-entertainer has crossed the coveted Rs 100 crore mark worldwide, that too in just six theatrical days! The Koratala Siva directorial stars Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and Telugu superstar Jr NTR in lead roles. The film also marks the debut of Malayalam youth icon Unni Mukundan, as the main antagonist.
With this feat, Janatha Garage has surpassed the record set by Koratala Siva's previous release, the Mahesh Babu blockbuster Srimanthudu to become the second fastest Rs 100 crore Telugu grosser. SS Rajamouli's Baahubali The Beginnning still holds the record of fastest Rs 100 crore Telugu grosser.
Meanwhile, Janatha Garage also marks the first Rs 100 crore grosser for Jr NTR. The actor's last two films, Nannaku Prematho and Temper were also blockbusters, but failed to hit the century mark.
