Sri Thenandal Films, one of the leading production houses in India, has signed director-actor Sundar C to direct their 100th film titled Sanghamitra. The makers also confirmed that the budget of their landmark film will be above Rs 350 crore and will surpass Shankar's upcoming film, Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar starrer -- Enthiran 2 to become the most expensive film to be made in India.

Earlier, Catch had reported that Sundar was keen on roping Ilayathalapathy Vijay as the leading man of Sanghamitra. The film was supposed to mark the first collaboration between Vijay and Sundar.

And now the latest update is that Ilayathalapathy Vijay politely refused to play the lead as the film needs a 250-day call sheet from the superstar. Earlier too, Vijay had acted in a periodic drama, named Puli which was a big disaster at the Box Office. The Theri actor, who is currently filming the 57th film of his career in Hyderabad, has also signed the upcoming film of Sivaji productions.
