Thalapathy Vijay's Mersal is nearing 50 theatrical run days at the Box Office worldwide. The action thriller, which had released on October 18 as Diwali release, has already bagged the blockbuster status at the Box Office. In fact, the Tamil superstar film went on to become the fifth South film to cross the Rs. 250 crore mark at the Box Office worldwide after Rajinikanth blockbuster Enthiran and Kabali and SS Rajamouli- Prabhas' Baahubali series.

Recently, during an interview to South film journalist Sreedhar Pillai, noted Indian film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh had stated that he was stunned with the overseas performance of Mersal. He also added that he felt so happy to see an Indian film like Mersal dominating the international markets.

Taran Adarsh was quoted as saying:

"I was so keen to watch Mersal. Unfortunately, I was travelling at that point of time and I didn't get the time to watch the film with subtitles. But I have heard so much about the film. I was completely stunned while posting the international data of Mersal. Everytime I look for Box Office data of Hindi films at overseas, Mersal would be on the top of it. I felt so happy and proud that an Indian film is shining and shining so brightly in the international markets. Even in places like Australia, I'm surprised with the kind of business Mersal has done. The footfalls in France, UK, Malaysia and US were phenomenal."

Mersal starred Thalapathy Vijay in triple roles.
