Ranjith's Leela releases tomorrow. But you can watch it online here

Speed News Desk | Updated on: 10 February 2017, 1:50 IST

Director Ranjith's upcoming film Leela is set to hit the screens on Friday, April 22, 2016. Interestingly, the film will hit cyber space on the same day and will be the first Malayalam film to have an online release simultaneously with the theatrical release.

Reportedly, Leela is an adaptation of an award-winning short story written by Unni R. The film narrates a strange love story between a mahout, Kuttyappan, portrayed by Biju Menon and an orphan, Leela, essayed by Parvathy Nambiar of Ezhu Sundara Ratrikal fame. Leela also stars Vijayaraghavan, Suresh Krishna, Indrans, Sudheer Karamana, Jagadish, and Priyanka in important roles.

The film had faced controversy earlier this year, when director Ranjith had continued with the film's shooting, ignoring the strike called by the Film Producers Association. The issue has not been resolved yet, but Ranjith, who is also the film's producer and an active member of the Association, decided to release his film online with its theatrical release.

Watch the trailer of the film here:

Leela will be released online at www.reelax.in. The film will be available for 24 hours and cinema lovers can watch the film for Rs 500. The website has also made an advance booking option for Rs 450.

Online, Leela has to be watched within a week and if a user buys and plays the film once, it should be watched within that day itself as it will expire in 24 hours.
