Malayalam superstar Dileep's blockbuster film Ramaleela is nearing 100 days of its theatrical release, but the film just created history at the Box Office. The film which marked the directorial debut of Arun Gopy, has been bankrolled by the Pulimurugan maker, Tomichan Mulakuppadam under his home banner Mulakuppadam Films.
Upon its release, Ramaleela sets the Box Office on fire by becoming Dileep's career best opener. The film went onto to become the only Malayalam to cross the Rs. 50 crore mark at the Box Office worldwide.
And now, Ramaleela has achieved a new milestone to its credit as the film has crossed the coveted Rs. 80 crore at the Box Office worldwide. What's more? The Dileep starrer also unseats the Rs. 75 crore record set by the 2013 Mohanlal blockbuster Drishyam to become the all-time highest second Malayalam grosser worldwide. Interestingly, Ramaleela producer Tomichan Mulakuppadam's previous release, Pulimurugan still holds the record of all-time Malayalam grosser with a massive collection of Rs. 152 crore worldwide.
Ramaleela marks the comeback of veteran Tamil actress Raadhika Sarath Kumar after the 1993 film Arthana. The film also stars Kattappanayile Hrithik Roshan fame Prayaga Martin, Mukesh, Salim Kumar, Siddique, Vijayaraghavan, Suresh Krishna, Renji Panicker and Kalabhavan Shajon.
