Did you know? Sridevi was supposed to star alongside Sanjay Dutt, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt in this hit filmmaker's film

It's known that top Bollywood director and producer Karan Johar was planning to direct 'Shiddat' featuring his Student Of The Year-duo Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt. Unfortunately, things didn't workout due to the reasons best known to him.

However, not many are aware of the fact that late legendary actress Sridevi was supposed to essay a prominent role in Shiddat.

Interestingly, Karan Johar himself revealed about Sridevi's role in one of his recent interview.

Sridevi was supposed to portray the role of veteran actor Sanjay Dutt's wife in the film. The Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham director also added that Sridevi loved the script and okayed the film right away. But sadly things did not happen the way they were supposed to.

Karan Johar concludes by stating that he is at least pleased that he got the opportunity of launching her daughter Janhvi Kapoor in his home production Dhadak.
