2 States is considered as the biggest hit of Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor. The 2014 romantic drama, which was based on award winning novelist Chetan Bhagat's 2009 novel with the same title starred Alia Bhatt in the female lead role. 2 States also marked the directorial debut of Abhishek Varma and went on to become the first Rs. 100 crore grosser for Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.

Earlier, there were reports that Nagarjuna's son and actor Naga Chaitanya will reprise Arjun Kapoor's role in the Telugu remake of 2 States. However, the Premam actor quickly squashed all the reports and confirmed he is not the part of the film.

And now, it has been confirmed that Telugu actor-filmmaker Adivi Sesh, who's known for films like Baahubali: The Beginning, Kshanam and Ami Tumi will portray the role of Arjun Kapoor in the Telugu remake of 2 States.
