On Saturday, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar and Tamil director Shankar launched the official logo of Lyca Kova Kings, a team participating in the Tamil Nadu Premiere League (TNPL). Earlier, it was reported that Raju Mahalingam, the creative head of Lyca productions, had roped in many top cricketers for his team in the upcoming cricket tournament.

During the press conference at the launch, Akshay Kumar spoke about the crazy demand to acquire the remake rights of Tamil films. He was quoted as saying:

"I have learned a lot from Tamil film industry. Few of my films including Meri Biwi Ka Jawab Nahin with Sreedevi Madam and Sabse Bada Khiladi were shot in Chennai and one thing I have noticed about this industry is that people are extremely professional. I also love Tamil movies. Directors work a lot to make the screenplay engaging with lots of twists and turns. I closely follow the works of actors like Vijay, Vikram, and Kamal Haasan. I also loved Arvind Swamy's performance in Thani Oruvan. This is the main reason why there is a lot of competition to buy the rights of Tamil films."

The Bollywood Khiladi, who is all set to debut in Kollywood industry with Shankar's Enthiran 2, also added that he would love to do more Tamil films in the future.

"I would love to do more Tamil movies again. Film lovers in Tamil Nadu are serious about cinema. As an artist, this gives me the biggest inspiration. I would be privileged to be a part of this great industry again and again. Let us go for the best!"

Meanwhile, Akshay's third Bollywood film of the year, Rustom is slated to release on 12 August 2016. The actor's previous releases Airlift and Housefull 3 were super hits at the Box Office.
