Earlier, it was reported that the Sri Lankan film industry was interested in remaking Drishyam. It has now been confirmed that director Cheyyar Ravi is going to remake the film in Sinhalese. The director, whose previous body of work include films Dharma Seelan and Harichandra, is confident that film will find an audience in Srilanka.

The lead character, essayed by Mohanlal in the original, will be played by popular Sri Lankan actor Konganige Joseph Malsi Jackson Anthony. The actor enjoys a good fan following in Sri Lanka and the movie is expected to draw large crowds to the theatres.
