After Pokiri, Will Salman Khan remake Puri Jagannadh's Ism?

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is known for his tendency to remake South Indian hits. From his 90's blockbusters, Judwaa, Bandhan to his recent hits Wanted, Ready and Kick, a number of his top grossers were all remakes of Telugu hits.

The success of Wanted - the remake of Telugu blockbuster Pokiri - came as a relief for Salman Khan as he was going through a lean period at the Box Office at the time. The Prabhu Deva-directorial broke the Box Office jinx, which saw Salman deal with 12 flops in between No Entry and Wanted - with Partner being his sole hit during the period.

Wanted went on to become the second biggest grosser of 2009. The original film, directed by Puri Jagannadh, starred Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu in the lead role.

And now, after 6-year-long gap, Salman Khan is all set to remake another Puri Jagannadh film, Ism. According to reports, Salman was impressed with the premise of the film as well as the performance of the lead actor, Kalyan Ram. He has also expressed interest in the remake. According to the latest update, Puri Jagannadh visited Mumbai to finalise the deal with the superstar. An official announcement in this regard is expected soon.
