The audio launch of Shankar's upcoming film 2.0 is scheduled to be held in Dubai on Friday. The film, tipped to be a sci-fi thriller, marks the first collaboration of two of India's biggest superstars, Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar. While Thalaivar portrays dual roles in 2.0 as Dr. Vaseegara and Robot: The Chitti, the Bollywood Khiladi essays the main antagonist role of scientist Richard. Produced by Lyca Productions for a massive budget of Rs 450 crore, 2.0 is the costliest Indian film to be made till date.

Reportedly, Rajinikanth and Shankar have personally sent an invitation to none other than Kamal Haasan to be present at the much awaited music launch on 27 October. Kamal Haasan will join Shankar for his next film, Indian 2 as well. The music launch, which is touted as biggest musical launch ever, will have a live performance from the music composer of the film and Oscar award winner AR Rahman.

Earlier, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan attended the first look launch of 2.0 on November last year.

Shankar is known as a director who likes to attract global attention for his films' music launch. During the audio launch of his previous release I, he had invited none other than Hollywood superstar Arnold Schwarzenegger.

2.0 is scheduled to hit the screens on 25 January 2018.
