Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly is all set to make his Tamil debut soon. The Malayalam superstar will star in the directorial debut of Gautham Ramachandran. Gautham has previously worked as an associate to director Mysskin.

The untitled film is an official remake of Kannada blockbuster, Ulidavaru Kandanthe . The original version featured Rakshit Shetty, Kishore, Sheethal Shetty, and Yagna Shetty. Reportedly, both Gautham and Rakshit are close friends and it was Nivin who requested Gautham to remake the film.

The Premam superstar, who's best known for his romantic roles, will be seen in a negative role in this film. The actor, who's already sporting a new look for the film, can be seen portraying the role of an arrogant gangster. Nivin Pauly has always expressed his desire to do negative roles.

The rest of the film's cast is yet-to-be-finalized and the shooting will begin by the second week of June.
