Hours after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said his name is not Rahul Savarkar and he will never apologize for speaking truth, BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya took a jibe at Shiv Sena over the Congress leader's Shavarkr remark.

Taking to Twitter Malviya wrote: "Looking forward to seeing Shiv Sena defend Rahul Gandhi for his statement implying that ‘Veer Savarkar was a coward who apologized’!"

" For once Rahul Gandhi is right. He can never be ‘Rahul Savarkar’. Veer Savarkar is a national icon, who has had a civilisational impact on India’s polity and will continue to be revered for generations to come. 5 generation of Nehru-Gandhi family can’t measure up to his legacy, " Malviya wrote in another Twitter post.

Similarly, BJP's National Spokesperson, Sambit Patra criticized Rahul Gandhi over his 'Rahul Savarkar' remark and said even if he (Rahul Gandhi) takes a thousand births, he cannot become "Savarkar".
"If Rahul Gandhi wants to change his name, we would like to call him 'Rahul-Sharmakar'. A person who calls Make In India as Rape In India deserves this name," Patra tweeted.

Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi has said he was told in Parliament by BJP to apologize for his speech. He was told to apologize for something which is right. His name is not Rahul Savarkar. His name is Rahul Gandhi. He will never apologize for the truth.

Speaking at Congress' Bharat Bachao rally, which was held in Delhi's Ramlila Maidan on Saturday, Rahul Gandhi has again refused to apologize for his remark he had made during a poll rally in Jharkhand.

"No one from Congress party will apologize. It is Narendra Modi who should apologize. He should apologize to the nation. His assistant Amit Shah should apologize to the nation. I will tell you why they should that," Rahu Gandhi said.

Worth Mentioning here that, Shiv Sena and BJP fell out recently after they won the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly Election together.

After weeks of drama, a coalition formed by the Sena, the NCP, and the Congress came to power. Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray is heading the coalition govt in the state.
