Congress attacks PM Modi over CAA, NRC: 'Don't 'lie' about things that are so easy to fact check'

However, Congress had responded to PM Modi's statement on the same day.

Senior Congress leader Anand Sharma had said, "It's the Home Minister's statement in both the Houses, it's in public domain. That has to be then duly clarified. That has created an environment of fear, insecurity & uncertainty in the country. It's primarily the govt which is responsible for that."

"Congress and its friends, some urban Naxals are spreading rumors that all Muslims will be sent to detention centers...Respect your education, read what is the Citizenship Amendment Act and NRC. You are educated," the PM had also said during the rally.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday urged students and youths of the country to join him at Rajghat to protest against the "hate and violence unleashed by Modi-Shah" and show that they will not allow India to be "destroyed by hatred".

 "Dear Students and Youth of India, It's not good enough just to feel India. At times like these, it's critical to show that you're India and won't allow India to be destroyed by hatred.

"Join me today at 3 PM at Raj Ghat, to protest against the hate and violence unleashed on India by Modi-Shah," he said on Twitter.
