Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union (JNUSU) president Kanhaiya Kumar on 30 April arrived in Patna, Bihar, on a two-day visit, during which he will address meetings and meet top state leaders. He will also travel to his village in Begusari district, according to a Pradesh18 report.

After reaching Patna, Kanhaiya tweeted that contract labourers of Mumbai Municipal Corporation have collected Rs 10,000 to pay his fine.

Explaining his stand, Kanhaiya tweeted again, "We will not pay the fine and fight the unfair HLEC of JNU. But our solidarity long live! Chatra, Mazdoor, Kisaan ekta Zindabad!"

Hundreds of youths, largely students' wing members of Left parties, welcomed Kanhaiya Kumar when he arrived at Patna airport.

Kanhaiya is scheduled to meet Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, RJD chief Lalu Prasad and other leaders who supported his campaign.

He is also likely to meet BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha.

Kanhaiya will address a meeting at the SK memorial hall in Patna on 1 May, with 'Azadi' being the dominant theme. He is also likely to visit his village Bihat in Begusarai to meet his parents.
