It was a mixed day for the Indian contingent at the Indonesia Masters Grand Prix on Friday, 4 December, as Kidambi Srikanth and PV Sindhu both enjoyed contrasting fortunes in their respective quarterfinal singles matches.

While Kidambi Srikanth had no problem in brushing aside the challenge of Malaysia's Teck Zhi Soo, PV Sindhu went down tamely to China's He Bingjiao.

Playing against the lower-ranked Zhi Soo, Srikanth put up a dominant display to crush his opponent in straight games, 21-10, 21-5. The match lasted for a total of 24 minutes, as the Indian shuttler proved too good for Zhi Soo.

On the other hand, PV Sindhu started well against Bingjiao, but the latter came back strongly to win the first game 23-21. Carrying on the momentum into the second game, Bingjiao went on to close out the game at 21-13, thus knocking Sindhu out of the tournament.
