Delhi Assembly Election 2020: Notices served to AAP, BJP over violation of poll code

Delhi Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) on Monday issued two notices to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for violating the Model Code of Conduct and not abiding by the instructions levied to political parties by Election Commission and National Commission for Protection of Child Rights.

The poll body also served a notice to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over violation of the Modal Code of Conduct(MCC).

Meanwhile, senior Congress leader and former Badarpur MLA Ram Singh and Vinay Mishra, son of former Congress MP Mahabal Mishra, Jai Bhagwan, Deepu Chaudhary join Aam Aadmi Party today in the presence of Delhi CM and Party's national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, deputy CM Manish Sisodia and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh at party office in Delhi.

 

Delhi Assembly Polls

On January 9, CEC Sunil Arora had announced the date of the poll for the Delhi Assembly elections. 70-member seat Delhi will go to polls on February 8 and counting of votes will be held on Feb 11.

The voting will be held at 13,750 polling stations, the Chief election Commission informed. The Model Code of Conduct (MCC) will be applicable for Delhi with immediate effect, the CEC said while announcing the poll dates.
