US Secretary of State John Kerry reportedly got stuck in a traffic jam in he Capital for about an hour on 29 August, while he was travelling from IGI Airport to the Taj Mahal hotel.

To clear the path for this motorcade, more than 50 policemen were deployed who eased the traffic for Kerry's convenience, reported the Times Of India.

The TOI report also states that John Kerry being stuck in a dismal jam posed a major security threat as US media personnel accompanying him began tweeting about the situation. Both US and Indian intelligence officials reviewed the security apparatus.

The jam around Teen Murti Marg, caused because of water-logging at the Shantipath-Teen Murti roundabout on a rainy day, was cleared on priority.

The police, however, has denied all these reports. TOI quoted an officer as saying, "He has been given Z-plus security and traffic on one corridor was cleared from IGI's technical area to New Delhi. There was traffic jam on adjacent roads due to his movement."

This is Kerry's fourth visit to India. The US State Department official is in New Delhi to participate in the seventh India-US Strategic and Commercial Dialogue.

He is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affiars Minister Sushma Swaraj and National Security Adviser Ajit Doval on 31 August.
