UP Police forms SIT to probe Aligarh girl's murder, accused will be slapped with NSA

The whole India is in anger after the brutal murder case of a two-and-a-half-year-old girl in Aligarh, now UP Police has constituted an SIT to investigate the case. The Police have also said that they will charge the accused with Stringent National Security Act (NSA) for the murder that has raised anger in a massive protest on social media.

SSP Akash Kulhari stated that the SIT will be led by SP (Crime) and SP (Dehat) to probe the case. The samples of the dead body have been sent to Agra forensic lab and the case is likely to be taken up in a fast track court. Till now around five policemen have been suspended.

The mutilated body of the minor girl was found in the garbage dump in Aligarh. The initial probe suggests that the reason behind this brutal murder was the fallout of a monetary dispute. The police have identified two persons in the case who have been accused of the crime.

SSP Kulhari said that the girl went missing from Tappal area of Aligarh on 31st May and 2nd June the Police found multitailed body in a garbage dump near victim's house. The Police have arrested two persons - Zahid and Aslam - after the victim's father's complaint.

"Post-mortem examination has not found any sign of sexual assault. The report confirmed death due to strangulation," the police officer said.

SP Kulhari said that looking at the brutality of the crime, proceedings have begun to charge the accused under the stringent National Security Act. He said a process has been started to trace the case in the fast track court. The victim's father has also asked that other family members of the accused should also get arrested as the crime wouldn't have been taken place without their knowledge.
