Naxalites kill 2 villagers in Maharashtra on suspicion of being informers

On 25 April, two villagers from Gadchiroli district near the Maharashtra-Chhattisgarh border have been gunned down by Naxalites after they were suspected of being police informers.

The incident took place this morning in Kurkheda tehsil near Kamtheda forest.

Last week, a police personnel was killed in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast triggered by Naxals in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur District.

Earlier this month, as many as 122 Naxals, including 11 women, surrendered before the police in the Sukma District of Chhattisgarh.
