Terror Threat! Days before Republic Day, 9 youth including teenager held for alleged links to ISIS by Maharashtra ATS

Nine Youth including a 17-year-old teenager were arrested over alleged terror links by Maharashtra Anti-Terror Squad from Mumbra, Thane and Aurangabad on Tuesday. All the youths are linked to the ISIS terror group the Maharashtra ATS alleged.

“Based on reliable information, total 9 youths have been brought for questioning from Aurangabad and Mumbra, Thane district. Inquiries are in progress. Further details will be informed in due course,” said Maharashtra ATS Squad.


"The group was likely to swing into action", when the ATS formed about a dozen teams and carried out searches at five different locations in Mumbra, Thane and Aurangabad last night.

The Maharashtra ATS was investigating the presence of sleeper cells ahead of Republic Day. “On receipt of reliable input about a group aligned with proscribed international terrorist organisation ISIS, ATS Maharashtra carried out searches & seizures at 5 different locations in Mumbra, Thane District & Aurangabad during the intervening night&early morning today,” reported news agency ANI.

Chemicals, explosives, mobile phones, hard drives, SIM cards, acid bottle and sharp knives have been recovered from the spot during the raids.
