Supreme Court now opens up the gates for general public on every Saturday; check here to know the schedule!

The Supreme Court has finally opened its gate for the general public to visit the building and get an inside view of the apex court.

Until now, everyone might have heard that it’s the decision by the Supreme Court, that the apex court has ruled this in the favor of but today, the court said that it will be great opportunity for the people to explore the insider view of the court.


“This is a great opportunity to gain inside access to the grand interiors of the Supreme Court building and admire the majestic structure in its full glory.”

The Chief Justice of India, Ranjan Gogoi said, “Idea to open up SC was entirely mine. I apologise that I did not consult any of my brother judges. But I am sure they have endorsed it.”

The Supreme Court will be presently open to the overall population from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM each Saturday except on declared holidays. One can go into the insides of the Supreme Court building. Pre-arranged escorted visits can be organized, subject to internet booking made ahead of time. The guests will be accompanied with all through the premises and acquainted with parts of recorded significance and they will likewise get an opportunity to observe the courts.

Pre-planned escorted visits can be arranged, subject to online booking made in advance. The visitors will be accompanied throughout the premises and introduced to parts of historical importance. They will also get a chance to witness the court rooms,” elaborates the guided tour portal of the Supreme Court.
