Stampede in Lucknow after a 5-year-old girl's death; roads blocked in Gomti Nagar as stone-pelting starts

A stampede has occurred in Lucknow’s Gomti Nagar after a 5 year-old girl died and now people are protesting on streets after blocking several roads.

People have resorted to stone pelting in aggression over the issue and it has caused a severe law and order situation.

H Kumar, Superintendent of Police in Trans Gomti region has said, “A missing person report was registered by us.During investigation, accused was arrested&body of victim was recovered&sent for postmortem. Some people started stone pelting in aggression.”

Earlier, yesterday a police constable was killed in a mob violence in Ghazipur who was returning from the duty of PM Narendra Modi’s rally.
