Smriti Irani slammed Rahul Gandhi for calling PM Modi a ‘thief’

After a Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s statement on PM Modi has taken the shape of controversy as Union Textile Smriti Irani has slammed the Gandhi for his comment on Friday. She said that Congress chief is indulging in low-level politics.

Irani said it after Rahul Gandhi at a public meeting in Rajasthan’s Dungarpur district on Thursday said that people of the country are heard saying that our India’s watchman (pointed towards PM Modi) is a thief.


Rahul Gandhi statement on PM not granted by the Union Minister and Irani said that Mr Gandhi has no regards for the Prime Minister of India. She added that he only respected the PM post only when his family members held it.

"I think that the desperation of the clown prince, as Jaitley calls him, is to attract attention to himself at the cost of the prime minister's name," she told reporters on the sidelines of a Carpet Export Promotion Council event.

She also said that someone should ask Rahul Gandhi that what his vision for the country. She added that nation-building is not important to him. She further told that “people of the country know that Rahul Gandhi lacks vision.”

Earlier on Thursday, Rahul Gandhi had mocked PM Modi and also talked about the Rafale fighter deal with France at his rally in Dungarpur.

During the rally, Rahul said that “Galli galli mein shor hai, Hindustan ka chowkidar chor hai.”
