Punjab Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu on Sunday termed the untimely demise of veteran Bollywood actor Sridevi as an irreparable loss.

The cricketer-turned-politician further said her death is a loss for the entire country.

"It is an irreparable loss. She was an icon. It is a loss for the entire country," Sidhu told ANI.

The Congress leader also referred Sridevi as a role model and 'Kohinoor'.

"She was a role model and her work will live forever. She was a jewel-like Kohinoor," he added.

The mortal remains of legendary actor Sridevi, who lost her life after a massive heart attack in Dubai will be brought to Mumbai via a chartered flight.

The actor, who was in Dubai for a wedding, reportedly had a fainting spell in her bathroom after which she was immediately rushed to Rashid Hospital in Dubai but could not be saved.

The sudden demise of the 'MOM' actress has left the film industry and her fans in a deep state of shock.

She is survived by her husband Boney Kapoor and two daughters, Janhvi, Khushi. Janhvi is filming her debut project 'Dhadak' and was not in Dubai with the family
