Days after drawing flak over the appointment of Salman Khan as the goodwill ambassador for India at the Rio Olympics, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has now approached cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar to be the second ambassador for the Rio Olympics 2016.

Reports suggest that musician AR Rahman might also be approached to join Salman Khan and Sachin Tendulkar to be the goodwill ambassador for the Rio 2016 games.

Indian Olympic Association (IOA) vice president Tarlochan Singh was quoted saying, "We are in communication with Sachin Tendulkar and AR Rahman to become brand ambassadors of the Indian Olympic contingent. We are yet to get their reply."

In addition, wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt also welcomed IOA's decision to rope in Sachin Tendulkar to be the brand ambassador.

This comes a week after Dutt, who is set to represent the country in the Rio 2016 games, condemned IOA's move and took to Twitter to express his anger. He questioned Salman Khan's contribution to sports and said a renowned sports person who has made a tremendous contribution to sports should have been chosen instead of a Bollywood actor.
