The Supreme Court has decided to hear the 49 review petitions challenging the entry of all aged women in Sabarimala temple.

The Constitution bench of the Supreme Court, had earlier, ruled in favor of the women, when the apex court had held that women of all age group should be allowed to enter the temple premises. The landmark judgement of the Supreme Court came with a 4-1 majority.

"Supreme Court has admitted the review petitions and said all the review petitions to be heard on January 22 in the open court," said advocate Mathew Nedumpara.

But the decision was challenged by the protestors in Kerala, who refrained the entry of any woman in the temple and discarded the ruling of the Supreme Court openly.

The BJP and RSS has openly criticized the decision by Supreme Court and held full support to the citizen and protestors of Kerala. More than 3000 thousand people were arrested in the case relating to spreading violence and disturbance in the region and defying the Supreme Court’s order.

The Congress party has also given into the demands of the protestors and said that the decision must be reviewed by the apex court.

The ruling CPM accepted the decision and CM Pinaryi Vijayan said that the decision will be respected and full abided the administration and government. He said, “A section of the faithful may have misunderstood. However, it is only temporary, I believe… The government is left with no other option but to implement the Supreme Court order.”

The Chief Minister added that, “The secular mind of Kerala was formed out of a long process of reforms and renaissance. The Sangh Parivar had been trying to destroy this peaceful environment for a long time. Sabarimala is yet another chance for them.”
