Gurmeet Ram Rahim, head of the Dera Sacha Sauda, whose followers had recently filed an FIR against comedian Kiku Sharda for impersonating him and hurting their sentiments, is facing the same charges himself, reports Mail Today.
The self-styled godman has been accused of hurting religious sentiments by the All India Hindu Student Federation after he dressed as an avatar of Lord Vishnu in a video.
While the Zikarpur, Punjab, police have not filed an FIR based on the accusation, they confirmed receiving a complaint. Nishant Sharma, president of the All India Hindu Student Federation said that if an FIR is not filed, they will take the issue to court.
In 2007, Gurmeet Ram Rahim had been accused of dressing as Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th Sikh guru. He had denied the accusation, but a case of blasphemy had been filed against him.
