Rahul Gandhi: BJP manifesto created in closed room is ‘voice of isolated man’

The day after BJP released its manifesto for Lok Sabha polls, Congress President took swipe at the ruling party calling its Sankalp Patra as "voice of an isolated man”. Launching the party’s 48-page manifesto on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had remarked that "people sitting in AC rooms cannot fix poverty". Responding to the jab, Congress chief tweets on Tuesday morning and said it is “short-sighted and arrogant".

"The Congress manifesto was created through discussion. The voice of over a million Indian people it is wise and powerful," Rahul Gandhi tweeted.


"The BJP Manifesto was created in a closed room. The voice of an isolated man, it is short-sighted and arrogant."

The BJP manifesto ‘Sankalp Patra’ was released in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley among others dignitaries at the party headquarters in New Delhi on Monday.

From promising big for the common man to downtrodden, an emphasis on national security, zero tolerance against terrorism, the creation of job, the BJP’s manifesto ‘Sankalp Patra’ has taken an all-round acknowledgement of the different classes and masses of the society.

"Nationalism is our inspiration, empowering the poor is our philosophy and good governance is our mantra", PM Modi said at the mega launch.

Where Congress’ manifesto keeps its focus on five big economic and social ideas, keeping Nyuntam Aay Yojana (NYAY) scheme on top that promises Rs. 72,000 a year to 20 per cent of India's poorest families.

The polling for the seven-phase Lok Sabha election will begin from Thursday, April 11 to May 19. The counting of votes and results will be declared on May 23rd.
